Genlisea margaretae, is a perennial, terrestrial Corkscrew Plant with small, spatulate rosette leaves. In their habitat, they typically grow in nutrient poor, peaty wetlands or sandy seeps. In culture, they prefer sandy peat that is constantly moist, and occasional flooding. The small flowers appear in Spring on very long stalks. They are mauve or pinkish violet in color. Each flower stalk produces a succession of 10 or more flowers. G. margaretae is the only Genlisea native to Madagascar. A clump or portion of genlisea contains 1 or more plants when shipped.
