Nepenthes maxima, is a large size, fast growing carnivorous tropical pitcher plant with large, 8+" reddish green pitchers that are heavily blotched and streaked in red. Traps are cylindrical with narrow triangular hoods, and nice red peristomes, that can be flared and fluted. It has prominent wings. Upper pitchers are somewhat smaller with nice spotting. It grows in the open or shade, among grasses and shrubs. It is tolerant of a light frost, and does well in a window. It is quite good at catching large insects, such as: stink bugs, wasps and yellow jackets.  It is a great house plant, that can be grown outdoors in the warm weather with a minimal transition period. It is a good as a houseplant or in the greenhouse.

Unless size specifies "potted", plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss. Photographs are representative of species, and not the specific plant shipped.

Nice Nepenthes made the cross country journey with no damage and is already growing!

Great plant

I’ve only had this plant a short while. It is already growing and putting out new pitchers. It is very small, but I have high hopes it will continue to grow and thrive.
