Nepenthes palawanensis, is a giant species, one of the largest of all Nepenthes and has been documented to consume rodents. It has a very wide opening. Pitchers are typically red streaks on a line green background, though some show fairly even red coloration. It is a vigorous grower. It is quite good at catching large insects, such as: stink bugs, wasps and yellow jackets.  It does well in a window and is a great house plant, that can be grown outdoors in the warm weather with a minimal transition period. It is a good as a houseplant or in the greenhouse.

Unless size specifies "Potted", plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss. Photographs are representative of species, and not the specific plant shipped.  The high price is based on its rarity and demand in cultivation. Plants are young and small with juvenile traps.
