The rare albino Sarracenia x courtii anthocyanin free is completely lacking anthocyanin, displaying no red coloration in either traps or flowers. This striking plant forms a low rosette of packed pitchers that curve upward at the rounded hoods.
Small white areoles (windows) faintly occur on the hood and along the thick and waxy pitcher tube. It is a slightly fragrant, early Spring bloomer with cream white blossoms that flower well before the new traps develop. Flower stalks and sepals last through the year. It is well-suited for terrariums and the backyard bog garden north into Canada with winter protection. S. x courtii is a rare hybrid of S. psittacina x purpurea. The name honors 19th century botanist and hybridizer, William Court.
Seed Packs are fresh harvested in Fall, and stored refrigerated. Seed count is approximate, but reliable.
Note: Stratification is required to prepare seeds for germination. All seeds are produced from open pollination within our collection. Some cross pollination may occur, and seed offspring may or may not be true to mother plant, though not likely with this species.
