Nepenthes singalana, is a medium size, fast growing carnivorous tropical pitcher plant with large, 6+" dark red pitchers that are heavily speckled in red. Traps are slender and cylindrical with oval hoods, and wickedly toothy, red peristomes, and a wide mouth. Lower pitchers have prominent wings. Upper pitchers are somewhat smaller. It grows in the open or shade, among shrubs and trees. It does well in a window. It is quite good at catching large insects, such as: stink bugs, wasps and yellow jackets. It can be grown outdoors in the warm weather with a minimal transition period. It is a great in a terrarium, and as a houseplant or in the greenhouse.

Use: Great house plant for the sunroom or does well in the greenhouse.
