Venus Flytrap Akai Ryu is Japanese for "Red Dragon." This is a gorgeous variety of VFT that shows beautiful deep burgundy red traps and petioles throughout the year. Traps have golden green margins. Very young plants frequently show all red coloration. Juvenile or low lit plants may show some green color. The Red Dragon Venus Flytrap is a registered cultivar from Ron Gagliardo and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. It is a spectacular plant. Royalties from each sale go to the endangered species conservation program at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

Unless size specifies "potted", plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss. In it's dormant season, it will be shipped as a dormant corm. Photographs are representative of the cultivar, and not the specific plant shipped.

Awesome

This is my second Venus fly trap bought from this website and I’m again happy with my purchase. The plant came in very healthy and packaging is excellent. I ordered a medium bare root plant and this is how it looks after potting it. Ive bought two more plants other than my two fly traps and plan on ordering more with them.

It’s good but a few hiccups

I got this about a week
ago and it arrived smaller than ordered, I ordered the large but it arrived very small and still is. It also arrived dormant with one dead trap. It also arrived two days later than it was supposed to. Aside from all that it’s good. Would order again.

It was ok. I can't remember if I got small or medium. But its thriving. I repotted it. It's growing. And I was removing one dead one and some of the bulb came off. Repotted that one too. It's growing. But other than that. It's ok.
