Pinguicula kondoi, is an easy to grow, charming, small Mexican butterwort.  It has broadly flattened, pale green, leaves with slightly curled edges. It has succulent leaves year round. It has a wide range of tolerance, but prefers damp, loose, peaty soils, and open shade, with wet Summers and dry Winters. It blooms in Spring and Fall with 1-7+ bright pruple pink veined flowers. It responds well to warm, wet Summers and drier, cooler Winters. It is an excellent house plant, doing well on window sills, plant carts and greenhouses. They perform great in a terrarium. Our Butterworts are artificially propagated from leaf pulls.

Plants are shipped wrapped in moist paper toweling in closed cups. Photographs are representative of species, and not the specific plant shipped.

Cute and Thriving

Arrived looking beautiful and healthy! This butterwort was geniusly shipped in a little condiment container with damp paper towels for the roots to sit on and it was quite a happy plant in there! I kept it in this container and wet the towels as needed until its forever bog home was finished; it has been thriving in it thankfully, and appears to be a very healthy and well cared for plant, and it didn't come with any visitor bugs, yay! Overall, I highly recommend this plant, it seems very easy to care for and if you're looking to get into carnivorous plants, this is the way to go imo!
