Soil Component - Spagmoss Compressed New Zealand Sphagnum

I'm not going to say that there are more sticks than moss, but if you are expecting no sticks, or other plant matter, look elsewhere. I can't imagine having to go through this much moss and removing all the sticks/other plant matter, there is just too much (I'm not talking like a handful here, much more than that). There are also thorns which I was pricked with. I now have a splinter from an unknown prickly plant in New Zealand. As recommended in the description, wear gloves. I did not. I would recommend wearing thicker gloves than you think because you could probably still get pricked with just your typical stretchy gloves.

As recommended in the description, maybe it needs to be mixed with soil. I was hoping to use it as a sole plant medium. It was a beginner mistake to buy just any moss online. Anyway, it's probably good for what it was intended for, to be mixed into soil(?).

Just going to give a rating based on product accuracy as I don't think it's entirely fair to rate it based on my experience. It arrived, and it is the moss pictured on the product page, I think it did expand to 20x its size as it claimed on the package. Which I was pleasantly surprised with! The moss parts are soft and bounce back, though you cannot grab a handful of it without being pricked by something.

I think that there should be a disclaimer that it is not just solely moss in the package, and that removing other plant matter/sticks in the moss would be incredibly tedious and time consuming.

Good clean product, but very small amount for a very high price. Will not buy again.

I used this medium for repotting some of my carnivorous plants an I can tell it's of great quality.
