As with other S. leucophylla hybrids, it has a nice show of Spring pitchers, but a great show of large, vigorous and stout Fall pitchers that can appear a rusty red. S. x Fuschia prefers open, sunny, boggy conditions, and holds its color into the frost. The flowers are fragrant, have a fresh fuschia color, and bloom mid-season. This cross can be natural, and is know horticulturally as S. x areolata. It is an officially registered cultivar with beautiful flowers. Sarracenia x Fuschia is a cultivar, S. alata x leucophylla, or its bionomial name S. areolata. It is named after its flower color.

Potted the two rhizome's up in the bog mix I purchased at the same order. I gave them 1/2 inch top dressing of sphagnum moss. They sit in rainwater collected off our roof. They look great. I am impatiently waiting now for them to sprout their first leaves of the season. I have already ordered a few more plants.
