Freeze Dried Bloodworms

Freeze dried bloodworms are an excellent high protein food for carnivorous plants. They are not true "worms," but are the larval stage of the Midge Fly, Chironomus plumosus, which is a common non-biting small flying insect. They are called bloodworms because the larvae are often a bright red color. Freeze dried, they are very convenient as a year round food for sundews, butterworts, and pitcherplants. Just sprinkle a small amount on or into the trap. Approximate Analysis: Protein - 58%, Fat - 5%, Fiber - 2%, Moisture - 4%.

Bloodworms

I've used these bloodworms for feeding my flytraps, pitcher plants, and sundews before. it is a great way to feed them. You don't have to worry about introducing something wrong/weird into your collection this way such as other plant seeds, diseases, etc.I am currently starting some flytrap terrariums for my grandson (who is fascinated with mine) and will help him feed them with the bloodworms. I highly recommend using these when leaving them outdoors to feed is not an option (I am in Colorado and the air is too dry for the plants). I use a pair of tweezers to feed. P.S. Don't leave them where your cat can get at them, one of my cats ate a whole bag of them recently LOL.

Good bloodworms although smaller than expected.

Overall these bloodworms are a good deal. They're organic, a decent amount as VFT don't eat a lot. I thought the worms were going to be a bit bigger than they are. It's probably better being smaller as they're easier for smaller traps to eat and digest. I recommend this product and company.

My finches love them!

Purchased to add to my finches weekly diet as a protein source and to add variety.
They like them! And the price was good.
