Nepenthes diatas is a remarkable tropical pitcher plant with distinctive teeth along the peristome, similar to N. hamata. It is a Sumatran Highlands nepenthes with large orange to deep red, almost purple pitchers when mature. They are very beautiful, often growing in a compact rosette. N. diatas is quite similar in appearance to N. singalana. It prefers cool growing conditions, and a slight drop (10°F) in overnight temperatures. It is quite good at catching large insects, such as: stink bugs, wasps and yellow jackets.  It is a great house plant in air conditioning.

Unless size specifies "potted", plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss unless size variant specifies "potted". Photographs are representative of species, and not the specific plant shipped.

Pictured is the small (2.5") plant I received about an hour after unboxing and repotting. I've never seen a pitcher look this good after shipping, and it's such a tantalizing preview of what's to come. It's like an adorable N. hamata with a striped peristome!
