Nepenthes fusca, is a medium size, robust growing carnivorous tropical pitcher plant with large, 8+" yellow green pitchers, with dark red, nearly black, streaks and speckles. Traps are slender and almost cylindrical with narrow triangular hoods. Upper pitchers are short and funnel shaped, with nice spotting. It grows in the open or shade, among grasses and shrubs. It is heat tolerant and does well in a window. It is quite good at catching large insects, such as: stink bugs, wasps and yellow jackets. It is a great house plant, that can be grown outdoors in the warm weather with a minimal transition period. It is a good as a houseplant or in the greenhouse.
Plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss. Photographs are representative of species, and not the specific plant shipped.
