  • Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia sp.)
  • Sundew (Drosera sp.)
  • Butterwort (Pinguicula sp.)
  • Terrestrial Bladderwort (Utricularia sp.)
  • American Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpus)
  • Sphagnum Moss (Sphagnum sp.)

Ease to Grow: Easy to moderate
Soil: All-Purpose Mix
Light: Full to partial sun
Water: Consistently moist with mineral-free water

These temperate, North American native plants all thrive in the same conditions, and are ideal beginning to an outdoor bog garden. The bog set is selected from the famous Venus Flytrap with its quick moving traps, a bog Pitcher Plant with its tube trap, the charming Sundew with sticky, glistening tentacles, a Butterwort, a rooted cranberry plant, a plug of Sphagnum Moss to spread about.

If ordered during winter months, bog terrarium plants may be sent that are dormant rhizomes, corms or hibernacula, trimmed of old traps. They will be true to size, but may not be showing their full forms. Given good growing conditions, they will emerge true to the size descriptions. Specific varieties and species are our choice. For size and care information refer to the specific plant pages. Plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss. Photographs are representative of species, not the plants shipped.

An incredible collection

Loved the variety i was given. Im not usually a big fan of mystery sets but I couldn't pick so it was really nice for them to include a perfect combo. Everything was packed nicely with strong roots. I received the following:

-Pingicula Primuliflora
-Uticularia Sublata
-Dionaea Muscipula
-Bog Cranberry
-Sarracenia v Leuco
-Sarracenia v Velvet
-Sarracenia v Farnhamii
-Drosera Filitoformis
-Drosera Intermedia
-Dionaea v akai ryu
-Sphagnum moss

I just planted them and of course there was a cold snap, but so far looking good! It did say id get a surprise mystery seed packet, but it looks like others have mentioned not receiving theirs either. Odd.

Fun Plants, Long Shipping Time

I'm super excited about my first terrariums and was waiting eagerly for the plants to arrive. However, possibly because I ordered around Amazon Prime Days the plants were in shipping for over a week. But when they arrived, they all were healthy and alive and have been doing well since.

Pretty good

I’m decently satisfied- the “set” didn’t come with soil and only contained the root balls, something that wasn’t communicated well when I purchased them. In addition I was told a free seed pack would be included with my order, but it never came. I contacted support and the only answer I got was “it should be in there” lol. Also it was a little strange that a cranberry plant is included, I understand these are grown in bogs but I assumed all plants from a place with carnivorous plants in the name would only have carnivorous plants.

Other than that the plants seem fine.

Beginner's carnivore kit

After I spoke to the company, I realized the plants were not as large because I ordered them earlier in the growing season. Also, I recycled my plant pots from last year so at least I didn't waste them. Happy to report all plants are now doing very well, sarracenias especially.
