Small but ready to go

This is my second nepenthes I’ve ordered. The other I’ve had for a couple months and I’ve been a bit worried about. It is growing, but has some dead leaves and still no pitcher. This little guy, on the other hand arrived just as small as the first, about 1.5” across, but had a robust green and red color and healthy fat leaves. Multiple little pitchers decorated the ends of each. I have only had it two weeks now, but it remains healthy and is slowly growing.

Nepenthes rajah has arrived!

While I was awaiting the recent delivery of a "baby" Nepenthes rajah I read the information on Carnivorous Plant Nursery web page. The information was greatly appreciated, even though in the past while teaching Botany I had several species of Nepenthes in the green house collection. I still have a large specimen of N. khasiana in my kitchen at home. When I saw the N. rajah being offered I couldn't resist. It arrived very carefully packaged, in great health, and even had four small pitchers already! In the ensuing two weeks those small pitchers have grown a third larger and a new leaf has begun to grow with a tiny pitcher already present!!!
I also ordered two packages of Nepenthes potting mix. As the new arrival grows I will now to repot in an appropriate medium. Thanks to seeing the potting mix I have a much better concept of how to make it here since my much larger and older Nepenthes has been awaiting a new pot.
I am most appreciative of being able to obtain this new plant! THANKS!

excellent condition. Good packing. would have wanted more warning on the box about overheating. That does not always mean the post person reads it.
