Drosera intermedia or Oblong-leaved Sundew is sometimes called the Water Sundew, and for good reason. It loves extremely wet, saturated boggy conditions, often growing on floating mats, where it can grow its largest, 3+". It can tolerate long periods of submergence and will tolerate drier periods in the summer months. It is medium height with a dazzling display of glistening tentacles in full sun, giving it a silvery appearance. The spatula-shaped leaves are green with bright red tentacles. It emerges early in the Spring and lasts throughout the Summer and Fall. It forms a sturdy winter hibernacula (resting bud), which is best pushed down to the surface in early Spring for best growth. The small flowers are white with a tint of pink on scapes with multiple blossoms. It flowers from June to August and often forms young plantlets on the flower spike (false vivipary). Oblong-leaved, water sundew frequently produce abundant seeds, giving it a nice spreading habit. Seeds need to be stratified (cold, damp winter storage), and can be stored for several years. It is wide-spread, growing from Canada to the Caribbean, where varieties do not require dormancy. Drosera intermedia is a trooper, and a great companion in the collection or growing in the bog garden. This selection comes from seed, and will show some natural variations.  In it's dormant season, it will be shipped as a dormant hibernaculum. For maximum effect use multiple plants in a 6" pot.

Plants shipped bare-root, wrapped in sphagnum moss. In their dormant season, they will be shipped as dormant hibernacula. Photographs are representative of the species and not the Dorsera intermedia for sale.

Fabulous!

Plants arrived looking healthy and vibrant. We planted them immediately in the little bog we made in our church native plant gardens. Expecting them to flourish!

Their fine.

I haven't even received mine yet. But just letting people know who don't. The "small size" complains and " how long they have to grow other carnivorous plants, these aren't like that, they grow from seed to adult hood in like 8 months. So if you received a tiny plant, then it's probably for reasons. And not to bad of a issue. I ordered from alot of sites. And I just started from this one. And my first one came almost adult lol. Mouths are most a inch. It's was a b52 Venus flytrap. And it came fast. They got to my order faster than anyone has so far actually. And I ordered more and so far it's the same. Fast reply. Fast shipping. Fast receiving. And pretty sure I'll get another nice sized trap. Fixing to order a few different sundews. Building a bod of carnivorous plants. And so far this site is the best. California carnivores is other recent site I ordered from, and I have yet to receive anything. And I ordered from them first. The first one finally shipped out today because I emailed them. Needed the ones I got from th3m for a more sentimental reason too. But this site. Pretty good. And I got sent bonus sundew seeds with my b52. I want another b52 soon. To flower together. And raise my own. Huge traps everywhere in a carnivorous garden is gonna be sweet.

I hope I continue to be impressed by them. Cause I wanna get a lot of plants and there really isn't a lot of options for me. I've tried a lot. A lot of scam. A lot of crappy plants dead plants you name it.
And I don't mean dormant I mean destroyed.

Teeny Plants - Very Disappointing

I ordered 3 different sundews, including this one. Though each was healthy and well packed, they were very, very tiny. I have kept flytraps, sundews and pitcher plants for almost 10 years, and at this size, I find them to be more fragile and I never separate them until they have grown. At approx. $15 per plant, I was very disappointed, and question whether they will all live. When asked for a review of one of these plants I said as much. I also said I would not be a return shopper due to the very small size. The day after my review, I got an email from the company asking for photos. I was impressed. The 3 photos I sent show 1 the size of a nickle and 2 about dime size . The response I got dropped my opinion further. No apology. Far from it. I was told that one of them was 'boarderline' and that they would send me 1 free with my next order. Why would I order teeny plants again, knowing I'd be pay adult plant prices. Adult plants only, for me. Too much time, money and effort, to do otherwise. Look at the photos I sent and you be the judge.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. The Drosera intermedia in your photograph is just emerging from its winter resting form in early April (which is also the best time of year to transplant). These resting buds (hibernacula) for Drosera intermedia are pea-sized and dark green/brown. By the end of the growing season they will be full sized, mature, flowering plants.

Smaller than expected

My Drosera came packaged very well. I was expecting the plant to be a little larger that what I received, its just sprouting. It is looking healthy though. Havent seen much growth in the week that I have had it, but its still green and looking good.
