The Sethos Mexican Butterwort, Pinguicula 'Sethos', is an easy to grow, indoor butterwort.  It is a hybrid of P. ehlersiae and P. moranensis. It has broadly flattened, green to peach pink, leaves with slightly curled edges. Its large sticky leaves can form rosettes about 3+" across. It has a wide range of tolerance, but prefers damp, loose, peaty soils, and open shade, with wet Summers and dry Winters. It forms larger, sticky carnivorous leaves in the Summer and smaller, drier, non-carnivorous, succulent leaves in the Winter. It blooms in Spring and Fall with 1-7+ bright pink flowers. It responds well to warm, wet Summers and drier, cooler Winters. The Sethos Butterwort is an excellent house plant, doing well on window sills, plant carts and greenhouses. They perform great in a terrarium. Our Butterworts are artificially propagated from leaf pulls.

Great condition and roots

Came wrapped in a damp paper towel and packaged well. It had good roots on it as well.

Butterwort

The plant came thoughtfully packaged and in beautiful condition. I’ve had mixed experiences with different online plant retailer’s packaging and delivering standards and was pretty concerned about this one being shipped in a box, in the middle of July, in the mail but, like I said it was great out of the box.
The box was smaller and held its shape without getting crushed while the butterwort was carefully wrapped in a damp paper towel material.
The price point was nice, too. I wish I would have gotten a few more but space is limited.

The plant is now potted and doing well. I have done enough plant shopping this year but I plan on buying more carnivorous plants from this company once everything I have settles in.

Unalive upon arrival

Upon arrival this little guy was already withered. We’ve had him for a week to see if he will revive but I think he may be unalive. How misfortune I was super excited. The two other butterworts we got though are growing!
