The Sethos Mexican Butterwort, Pinguicula 'Sethos', is an easy to grow, indoor butterwort.  It is a hybrid of P. ehlersiae and P. moranensis. It has broadly flattened, green to peach pink, leaves with slightly curled edges. Its large sticky leaves can form rosettes about 3+" across. It has a wide range of tolerance, but prefers damp, loose, peaty soils, and open shade, with wet Summers and dry Winters. It forms larger, sticky carnivorous leaves in the Summer and smaller, drier, non-carnivorous, succulent leaves in the Winter. It blooms in Spring and Fall with 1-7+ bright pink flowers. It responds well to warm, wet Summers and drier, cooler Winters. The Sethos Butterwort is an excellent house plant, doing well on window sills, plant carts and greenhouses. They perform great in a terrarium. Our Butterworts are artificially propagated from leaf pulls.

Unalive upon arrival

Upon arrival this little guy was already withered. We’ve had him for a week to see if he will revive but I think he may be unalive. How misfortune I was super excited. The two other butterworts we got though are growing!

Sethos Butterwort (2 x Medium)

Shipping was much later than expected due to nationwide storms - nobody at fault for that.
However, prior to receiving my plants, I went to the store and bought everything outlined in the care guide on the website.
I opened the plants immediately and got a very sad face :( Both were extremely shriveled, and little to no green or signs of life.
I have a bit of a green thumb, so I’m attempting to bring them back. But so far, I spent ~$50 on the plants and shipping, and that doesn’t include supplies. Hoping my little guys make a comeback. Otherwise, I’ll probably be ordering from somewhere else in the future.

I was disappointed it came super small and with barely any roots to plant. The coloring wasn’t the same as the picture either
