Pinguicula x 'Weser' is a hybrid tropical butterwort, P. ehlersiae x moranensis. Like its parents, it is an easy to grow, indoor butterwort.  It has broadly flattened, pale green, leaves with slightly curled edges. Its large sticky leaves can form rosettes about 3+" across. It prefers damp, loose, peaty soils, and open shade, with wet Summers and dry Winters. It forms larger, sticky carnivorous leaves in the Summer and smaller, drier, non-carnivorous, succulent leaves in the Winter. It blooms in Spring and Fall with 1-7+ bright violet pink flowers. It responds well to warm, wet Summers and drier, cooler Winters. P. 'Weser' is an excellent house plant, doing well on window sills, plant carts and greenhouses. They perform great in a terrarium. Our 'Weser' Butterworts are artificially propagated from leaf pulls.  This cultivar is registered with ICPS.

Healthy Plant, Great Packaging, and Fast Growth!

I ordered the medium Weser Butterwort, and it was definitely worth it! It arrived well-packaged and alive, with its roots intact. I ordered it back in early October, and it’s doing great, growing new leaves already. The only small complaint is that one of the leaves broke during shipping, but that’s fine since I can propagate it. I’ll definitely buy it again.

Only OK

Weser Butterwort was packaged well and delivered promptly. It was significantly smaller than I expected. It had two very small mature leaves and a couple of new ones developing. The mature leaves look like they might die but the emerging leaves look good.

New Butterworts

I've seen them on the Internet and decided to try them. They were smaller than expected, but well packaged, arrived quickly, and began to sprout new leaves within a week. I'm excited to see them flower in the future.

Butterwort

My Butterwort is very small, but arrived both alive and with a cluster of new leaves in the center. I wasn’t sure it would do well, but a week later and it’s still alive and the new leaves have opened. This one is best watered from below, so I placed the little pot of peat moss and sand into a larger pot of rain water and it seems to be doing well enough.
