Golden Crest, Lophiola aurea, is a showy inhabitant of bogs and wetlands. It is an emergent perennial with grass-like leaves and clusters of small yellow flowers. It flowers in late summer. The rhizomes can grow rapidly, forming a nice colony of plants in a season. It is winter hardy, and is a prolific grower, tolerating a wide range of wet growing conditions. It is an excellent companion for carnivorous plants, providing nice dappled lighting.
For Golden Crest, each portion is a small, rooted, growing plant.
Plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss. In it's dormant season, it will be shipped as a dormant root/rhizome. Photographs are representative of species, and not the specific plant shipped.
