A very attractive sundew hybrid, Drosera sp. Lantau Island x anglica “Alakai Swamp, HI”. It forms a large rosette with paddle-shaped leaves of deep burgundy red color. Tentacles are numerous with large sparkling "dew drops". It is a vigorous grower and spreads readily. It prefers open, sunny, boggy conditions in peaty soils. The blossoms are sterile and pink on multi-flowered scapes. Typically there are several scapes at a time, and they are long lasting. It can flower at different times of the year, but more profusely in the summer months. Allow for a winter rest for best growth. This hybrid is an excellent little terrarium plant. It is easy to grow, and is a great beginner's plant. This selection comes from leaf cuttings, and are genetically identical to the parent. D. sp. Lantau Island is a D. oblanceolata x spatulata cross.
