Nepenthes bongso, has huge, reddish-purple traps with a nice wide flaring peristome. The traps are tubby. It is rare in carnivorous plant collections. In cultivation is does well in moderately bright indirect light. Reduce watering in winter. It is a great house plant, that can be grown outdoors in the warm weather. It is excellent in the terrarium, and shaded greenhouse. It can grow quite large. It was originally described in 1839.

Unless size specifies "potted", plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss. Photographs are representative of species, and not the specific plant shipped.

Plant arrived with no pitchers, but otherwise great condition.

The plant was very well packaged for transport, I could tell great care was taken to make sure it arrived in one piece. There weren't any traps on it when it arrived, but that's not a big deal. It seems to have taken the transition very well, it is attempting to pitcher on the first new leaf it unfurled in my back porch where it's growing now, but it's looking like that one might be a bit deformed - however that's probably just from adjusting to the new environment and I won't worry too much about that. I expect a decent trap on the next leaf at the rate it seems to be adjusting to its new space. Very satisfied with my specimen, would buy again.
