Drosera filiformis tracyi, or Southern Thread-leaved Sundew, is among the largest of all the North American sundews. D. filiformis tracyi is slightly larger than D. filiformis filimormis (the Florida Giant Form is slightly larger still). Its long leaves can reach upwards to 18 inches. It is predominately green to yellow-green with clear to slightly orange digestive glands, and covered with numerous sticky tentacles that glisten in the sunlight. The Drosera filiformis var. tracyi is quite noticeable from a distance and appears to shine silvery-green. It gets a lot of attention at the Nursery. It prefers open, sunny bog conditions and does not grow in Sphagnum Moss. It can tolerate drier conditions than most sundews, and competes well with other non-carnivorous plants. It emerges late in the Spring and lasts throughout the Summer and Fall. It forms a large sturdy winter hibernacula (resting bud), which is best pushed down to the surface in early Spring for best growth. The numerous large flowers are white on tall scapes. It flowers from May to June, and frequently produce abundant seeds. Seeds can be sown immediately or stored for several years. Drosera filiformis tracyi is a dramatic carnivorous plant for your collection or bog garden.  In it's dormant season, it will be shipped as a dormant hibernaculum.  Juvenile plants may be shipped. For maximum effect use multiple plants in a 6" pot.

Plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in damp sphagnum moss. In it's dormant season, it will be shipped as a dormant hibernaculum. Photographs are representative of species, and not the specific plant shipped.

Arrived dormant, which I expected to be the case. It has a large hibernacula that arrived looking great, and I can tell its going to explode in the spring! So excited to see it grow!

Nice plant

It came in very good condition with nice looking roots. It was well packaged. Also, it was bigger than what I was expecting. After being planted for a month it’s had 4 or 5 new leaves come out.
